Welcome to Bracketville---All Conference, all the Time Edition

This season is the first season that Duke, UNC and NC State all lost their ACC openers. That’s pretty remarkable.
Vandy is down to seven scholarship players.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff has yet to play a home game.
Undefeated: Wichita State, Wisconsin, Syracuse, Iowa State, Arizona.
Winless: Cornell.
Miami is the slowest team in college, averaging 60.4 possessions per game.
Duke has the high offensive rating {1.22 points per possession}.
Against Georgia Tech, the Blue Devils sunk 22 of 25 free throws, while Tech missed all six attempts.
Coach K’s brother never missed a day of work as a Chicago firefighter. I wonder just how many accountants go their entire working life without a sick day.
Michigan State and Cincinnati have each had 64-rebound games.
Cal has beaten Oregon 12 times in a row…Holy Moly!
Butler is 1-3 in overtime games.
In their one point win over Nebraska, Michigan had as many turnovers as foul shots.
In a losing cause, UCLA outrebounded #1 Arizona last night…both offensively and defensively.
Louisville’s best wins are vs. Southern Miss and at UCF. Ooops!
Clemson can sure play defense. #1 in points-per-game allowed, #2 in field-goal percentage, 8th in blocked shots…and they commit the 13th fewest fouls.
Scoring is a not their strong suit. In their home loss to FSU last night, the Tigers had 18 turnovers and 15 field goals…scoring 41 points.
Cincinnati managed to defeat Houston, despite making just seven field goals in the second half.
Iowa State’s DeAndre Kane looked All-World to me in the victory over Baylor.
Even with the loss, I still like Baylor’s match-up zone.
Kansas ranks #348 in Kenpom’s “experience” statistics.
A day after his birthday, Creighton’s Doug McDermott had 30 points, 10 boards and five assists in a victory over Seton Hall.
Ask FSU about UVA’s defense. The Seminoles shot 30.8% and had as many turnovers as made field goals {16}…at home.
Virginia’s pack-line defense keeps them in every game.
This is the best start for Wisconsin in 100 years of Badger basketball.
UCLA’s 107-73 victory over USC marked the first time in 16 years that the Bruins have hung 100 points against their cross-town rival.
After beating Georgia, George Washington starts conference play at 12-2, with other good wins over Manhattan, Miami, Creighton, Maryland and BU. Don’t sleep on GW come March.
Manhattan has nine wins away from home so far this season.
Opponents are hitting 79.1% of their free throws against NC State…a very high number. I have no idea what to make of this stat, since there is no defense against foul shots…but thought it interesting none-the-less.
Not so fast: Arizona’s average possession length on defense is the longest in the country.
One more thing: Wake Forest has not won on the road in the ACC since January 21st, 2012, at Boston College. Coach Jeff Bzdelik's personal ACC road record is 1-25.
Congratulations! You made it to the end -- celebrate by watching some basketball this weekend. UNC @ Syracuse, FLA Arkansas, Kansas State @ Kansas, Kentucky @ Vandy, Duke @ Clemson, Memphis @ Temple are all on the tube.
