Curmudgeon in the Wry 537

Thursday, December 06, 2012---887 Words---Average Reading Time: 2 Minutes, 55 Seconds. (A pointless waste of time---time frittered away)

Offending readers and hindering productivity one issue at a time since 2001.
Continuing to call them as I see them.
Virtually free of original ideas.
Warning: Contains unsound bites from the apple of life.
Often wrong…never in doubt.
Being wrong is the risk you run by thinking and acting.
A Grumpy Old Man Production.
If you want this in a different language…move to a country that speaks it!
Gluten Free.
Why waste your time anywhere else.

I wonder: Do you think atheists see the irony in making a religion out of opposition to religion?
Do you think obama sees the irony in “asking” the rich to pay more? Government has never asked anyone to pay anything. It orders you to pay the taxes they impose.
Do you think obama sees the irony in “investing in the industries of the future?” Thus far the obama regime has repeatedly “invested” in the bankruptcies of the present, such as Solyndra.
+++++++
Hmmm: Is there some kind of rule that says when a magazine or website is redesigned it is always more difficult to read than before?
+++++++
+++++++
Rant: I laugh when I hear sports announcers say that professional athletes are playing in a "hostile" environment. Afghanistan is a hostile environment.
+++++++
Rumor mill: Bill Clinton has asked Paula Broadwell to write his biography.
+++++++
Truism: It’s not about the winning, it’s about the collecting.~~~Old Las Vegas saying.
+++++++
You Know You’re Old: If you remember hearing “Jingle Bell Rock” by Bobby Helms when it was first released in 1957.
+++++++
Rave: The music in “Top Gun” still sounds great.
+++++++
Rant: The designation “hate crime” make me ill. Any thinking person (that eliminates liberals) knows that every crime is hateful to the victim.
+++++++
Didjaknow: “The rich” paid a larger amount of taxes, and a larger share of all taxes, after the Bush tax cuts went into effect.—From The Economic Report to the President for 2012, page 411.
+++++++
Happy Anniversary: It was 70 years ago that Casablanca premiered at New York City’s elegant Hollywood Theater “to coincide with the Allied invasion of North Africa and the capture of Casablanca.”
+++++++
Hmmm: What’s the difference between a submarine, a hoagie, a hero and a grinder?
+++++++
Opening Paragraph: “Reynoldo Ramirez, moderately prosperous by the standards of his time and place, imagined himself beyond surprise. He observed the world through calm brown eyes set wide apart in a calm brown face—an Aztec face, an Indian face, a peasant’s face, a gangster’s face, for he was all of them—and nothing of his considerable bulk suggested a capacity for astonishment or foolishness, for that matter, or mercy.”~~~The Second Saladin by Stephen Hunter.
+++++++
Quote: “obama is a master of the plausible lie, which will never be exposed by the mainstream media---nor, apparently, by the republicans.”—Renowned Economist, Thomas Sowell.
+++++++
Rave: Much as I love my Buick LaCrosse, "Burn Notice" is getting my attention for the Hyundai Genesis.
+++++++
Truism: The only advice anybody will ever listen to is the advice they asked you to give them.
+++++++
Rant: The election results means we spend four more years listening to obama audition for the title role in “Pinocchio, The Musical.”
And, that the dumbest, the laziest and the least grateful, are entitled to everything that the smartest, hardest-working, most decent individuals have.
+++++++
You Know You’re Old: If you remember when there were only four bowl games, and they were all played on New Year’s Day
+++++++
Rave: My two favorite TV reruns are “Leave It to Beaver” and “Frasier.” When you think about it, Frasier and Niles are a grown up version of Wally and Beaver.
+++++++
You Know You’re Old: If “Winky Dink and You” was your first experience with interactive media.
+++++++
Hmmm: Hugh Hefner, 86, will marry Crystal Harris, 26, at the Playboy Mansion on New Year's Eve. There's a joke in that somewhere that doesn't use the word "Viagra," but I just can't quite find it.
+++++++
Rave: I love Publix.
+++++++
Rimshot: A cartoonist was found dead. Details are sketchy.
+++++++
Truism: Adventures are what you have when you screw up.
+++++++
Rave: You do not have to respect everyone’s beliefs; you just have to acknowledge them.
+++++++
Rant: Did you notice how many of our enemies in other countries rooted for obama? That’s a warning sign that future generations will pay for.
+++++++
Truism: Few things can make you appreciate home like staying in a hotel.
+++++++
Rave: The Blue Note Hour hosted by Bruce Lundvall on XM 67 Real Jazz.
+++++++
Hmmm: Ever notice how dumb luck seems to follow smart people around?
+++++++
Truism: A comedian is just a person who remembers all the jokes.
+++++++
One Final Thought: It’s very dangerous to play it safe. Just ask Mitt.
